Subject: Kiera's P5 Textures / Material Room

Just a quick note of thanks to Kiera for posting the free P5 materials. Seeing live examples has allowed me to get a better understanding of "what does what" in the material room. I read the manual but got a headache. It was much easier to experiment with existing material setups and I'm slowly getting the hang of it now. I've been in node mode for a few hours now.

The only issue I have is having to apply the material to individual items. Is there an easier way to add the texture to more than one item at a time (ie. grouping??)?

There was a link to them here in the forums about 2 days ago. Sorry it took me forever to find the link :)

Hi Sharen, I thought I got them here but I haven't slept much. They are at RunDNA Free Section. Remember that you can apply these materials to all sorts of things, not just clothes... it's lots of fun. ~Al

The easiest way that I've been adding materials to more than one group (there might be a better way) is that I've been copy and pasting the entire floating menu to each texture.

Alchera, re applying to individual items, I hope I am not stating the obvious, but if you want the material to apply to all or most of the items you can apply it to one, then rightclick on the heading of the node and select "Apply to All"

"The only issue I have is having to apply the material to individual items. Is there an easier way to add the texture to more than one item at a time (ie. grouping??)?" There may be. We need to strip down the MAT pose files that come with P5, and take a long look at pp2's and pp3's to see if we can make a new style of mat pose for different shader nodes on the body parts. might also see if that information can be placed into an mt5. Paul, thank you, Cimerone provided the link for me, but thank you anyway. Sharen

I am glad you found them useful. And I am REALLY glad you are modifying them. ;) I find that the easiest way to figure things out, personally.. Words in a manual just swim before my eyes after awhile. =p Sharen, that dress is the EMW heroine dress, available at PoserPros. ;)

heyas; the problem is, you can't copy the main node. (at least, mine doesnt!!) what i've been doing is doing the texture on the main material, then saving it to a temporary libray. then grab the next material i want to apply it to, and double clicking the mat. and so on, and so forth. i've built a 'sequins' mat that i want to chop so it won't override your other colour and whatnot nodes, but will only insert itself where it's connected. but i haven't gotten to that yet. the idea of the sequins is you can apply sequins to your dress texture, your sweater texture, your cat's fur... anything. :)
