Subject: mil dragon not installing - anyone else????

spnnrmn ( ) posted Sun, 22 September 2002 at 10:43 AM · edited Wed, 14 August 2024 at 1:48 PM

This morning I bouthg the Mil-Dragon (along with textures and dragon tack). No trouble in the DL. Went to install and can not start any of the 3 programs. Nothing happens... nada, zip, nothing. Tried and older DL from Daz (the dragon hoard from last week) and it started fine. any other thing from Daz also started and found all versions of poser just fine. Tried reboots (lots of them), virus prots off and on, zone alarm off and on. Still nothing shows is the task manager, and nothing starts. Plenty of memory, disk space and all that. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Philip

Worked fine for me. I think someone else had this problem but dont know how they fixed it. Try right clicking it then open. Ron

I had this problem with things I bought, too. The ones I downloaded with Mozilla (Netscape based) wouldn't run. I went to DAZ with IE and right-clicked to save, and that one went fine. If you haven't used all of your downloads (unfortunately, I did on one of my products, so I'm waiting patiently until Monday when I can get it reset), try that and see if it works.

Thanks but that does not help. Tried it in the first round of attempts and retried after your ms arrived. Still nothing.....

did the dowload with IE, but did not do the 'right-click/save as' just did a click to download. Since I have 2 more download left, I will give that a try later. Wife insists that I go do yard work. Thanks.......

FyreSpiryt, well tried this and still no luck. I guess waiting till monday is not a bad thing, there are always other scenes to work on. Thanks to all.

Hi Check how big the file is I used up all 3 of my alloted downloads the weekend of the big crash. the last one gave me an exe of about 8000kb which wouldn't install. when I contacted Daz (who were extremly helpful!btw) They set it up so I could download again the final file sze was more like 15,589kb So perhaps the same has hapened to you. It is worth the wait though Dave

Hi there, I just re-tested the downloads and they seem to install fine. EMail reachel@daz3d.com she handles the store. also call tomorrow at 1-800-267-5170. Though i am not sure what caused you problem I am sure we can get you that dragon. :) Anton anton@daz3d.com side note: In the past we used existing merchant software for our store. We realized we had outgrown it and wanted to expand options existing software didn't offer. We have hired people specifically to write new store software for us. They are busy troubleshooting it but web software is what they do. They have currently been working specifically on making sure the store works with different browsers. We are working on getting those annoying bugs ironed out. If there is ever a problem always email or call. Though I am not in Utah you can email me on weekends if you need an ear to bend or a question.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but none of them seemed to be the answer. Late last night I sent a note off to the sales e-male addy that was mentioned if there were problems. Now time to sit back. Thanks again, Philip
