Subject: Poser Dance Motions

I am getting ready to produce a pop music video for an edgy female artist. I would like to do an animated dance mapping the girl's face on Vicky, hopefully in Poser 5. Does the face mapping work well in Poser 5? I need some dance motions. I purchased some from Credo interactive but they were a bit distorted. Does anyone know where there are any kool dance motions other than the Daz motions cd. Thanks in advance. LuluLee

Try a Google search for "BVH motion" If you are prepared to search then there are a few out there. Colleges that run computer graphics courses often put a batch on their sites for use in class projects. You will almost certainly have to edit them after you import them into Poser but it will be a starting point. You will need to ensure that they are public domain, an email to the site's webmaster may be required.

Thanks Phil, I tried the search on google but there doesn't seem to be much available. Let me know if anyone runs across anything. Thanks for your time. LuLuLee

The largest collection of free BVH files that work with Poser is from Santa Monica Studios and hosted at Stanford Univ. (and several other locations). Include those terms in your search. They work well & have a bunch of dance motions - mostly ballet, but a couple of contemporary styles as well.

I was playing with the dance files from Santa. The shoulders of Judy really get distorted on some of them so I tried Vicky lores and the P4 woman. Same thing. Well, anyway, its a base to start with and overal, a very worthile package to get. Quite excited that its a freebie.

thanks so much to everyone. I am downloading the Santa files now. I have purchased wolf's motion files with the dance in them. Wolf, your files are amazing. They are really clean and great movement. Thanks so much to everyone for your help. This will get me started.
