Never used it much, but only one word can sum this up. Doh! Kicks MetaC again F3nix

Eric Wenger, who still owns the code, has been heard to say (and I read the email with my own eyes) that regardless of what Metacreations does (those assholes) he will not let this program, which he loves, diw

I heard that too . we can only hope . but MC's server hosts Bryce Talk. so someone(Eric) would have to pick up that as well. I personally didnt use it much .But I kinda feel like they sold me software and are now taking part of it back. Hawkfyr

Sorta thinking on what Hawk said, they are more or less taking back part of the program, ether way MetaC needs a good swift kick in the behind, they obviously have no idea how much things like Bryce are expanding and how much they stood to make on it, but oh well their loss :) F3nix

It's not just Bryce though. They're dumping their entire 3D line from what I'be heard. Fuckin idiots

well I spent $400 to buy bryce 4, if they are taking away bryce talk then I want a refund for part of my cost, since I paid for a full program

Roshigoth ( ) posted Sat, 25 March 2000 at 3:33 PM

You paid $400 for bryce??? Wow, I only paid $150, and I've seen it sold outside student sources for about $200.. or are you international?

agamemnon ( ) posted Sun, 26 March 2000 at 3:54 AM

Rosh:, my guess is you got a student price for your program, then the price is cheaper because leagally you can't make any money off of your version, my version allows me to sell what I make, baring any other things like using dowlloaded models which then makes the picture mine and someone elses.

bonestructure ( ) posted Sun, 26 March 2000 at 8:36 AM

You got ripped off then, cause standard price at Hastings is like, 179

Roshigoth ( ) posted Sun, 26 March 2000 at 12:49 PM

Yes, I paid student price for mine. However, I have seen Bryce non-student versions for $179, as bonestructure said. Besides, I've looked all through everything, and I've seen nothing that says I can't make money off stuff I made with it. Maybe I'm overlooking something, but either way, it's not like I'm making anything to sell anyway. Rosh

KenS ( ) posted Sun, 26 March 2000 at 1:21 PM

should of bought it direct from Metacreations for $199.00

Hawkfyr ( ) posted Sun, 26 March 2000 at 4:36 PM

I bought mine for $99.00 US direct from MC but it's an upgrade offer from Bryce 3. But ... no matter the cost, it still kinda sucks that it's a part of my software that I won't have anymore. Oh well ... Hawkfyr
