Will PBoost work with Poser5??

My pbooost loads on boot and works with P4. From what I can tell, there probably isn't much of a need for it with P5. However, since P5 lets you add the P4 runtime directory, pbooost may still have value. Changes I make in pbooost in P4 runtime show up in the p5 library.

Heard PBooost is having an update to 1.4....any news lately? Thanks :)

yea, I'm waiting for 1.4 as well. I was using Pbooost before I got P5...starting to reorganize all my stuff. That's been very helpful since I got P5. The Deep File Editor is an excellent feature, too. Hogwarden, where are you? What's da scoop?

I'm here!!! hurredly doing up flies* LOL! Unfortunately I'm somewhat geographically challenged by being a Brit... IE, no Poser 5 yet. I can't make any promises as to timescale until I've got my sweaty paws on the update! I will need to make several changes to PBooost to make it natively "used to" Poser 5... subfolders in the libraries, mt5 files, new material nodes, etc. At the moment, as Eric says, it does work if it's hooked to a P4 runtime which is in turn hooked into P5, but doesn't like to be hooked directly to P5. ('Cos the bloomin Poser.exe is now called poser.exe!!!! Spot the difference!!) So PBooost 1.4 will be Poser 5 aware, but I can't start work until I get P5!!!!! Howard:)

Hey Hogwarden...there you are. Why wait for Poser 5!!!? :)...Do you think Poser 5!!! needs it?...thought it has its old file management already. Hmmmm..may be work on a PBooost 1.35 like having an option to disable the "pop up", have "rsr" type thumb image to represent the selected item etc...u know, those nitty gritty that makes a program looks 'expensive' but not and yet "functionable"..I'll be happy.

hogwarden ( ) posted Thu, 26 September 2002 at 10:39 AM

Yeah... I thought P5 would have it wrapped,:) but People want to use PBooost on their P5 libraries... who an I to say no?!? To disable the pop-up help, uncheck "Show help bubbles" in the menu! It's there!! Point taken about the RSR/PNG thumbs...People need to ask for stuff to get me to put it in the program!!!!! Would you like a 3d view of deformers and objects contained within the poser files, too?!? 'cos that would be quite cool... H:)

tesign ( ) posted Thu, 26 September 2002 at 11:18 AM

LOL!...silly me...should have look into the uncheck bubble stuff, thanks :) "...Would you like a 3d view of deformers and objects contained.." sure thing :-) If it can do much like the other utility call P3DO and can view as much 3d file format, the more the better...hope I'm not asking too much...LOL! Thanks again.

hogwarden ( ) posted Thu, 26 September 2002 at 12:32 PM

Well... now you've asked for it I have no choice!! LOL! I'm not talking about an explorer type thing, but allowing you to look at the morphs within Poser files and look at geometries called from within the files... It'll be part of the DFE. H:)
