Posting screen shot as mentioned in earlier post. The problem is why all the kinking at the top of the head while sides are straight. Goal is a smooth flowing straight hair style without the kinky-doo at top.

I think Nerd was right about the collision detection goofing up things, and I hope he is also right that Curious Labs will fix this -- (Kupa... what do you think?)

Would like to keep the collision detection as I intend to use this in an animation.

Yep, show collision's the only thing that looks like it's different from how I've been doing hair (and I haven't had the kink problem. You might want to try increasing the verts per hair (essentially making the hair higher res) but that might just make it take longer to render the same bad result! :)
