When will that be ready? My wife is Norwegian and has been after me to do something in Poser for her using just such a model. How many textures will it have? TIA. Larry F

Currently there is only the texture as seen, the ship is one texture and the sail another. I was considering anothr hull texture as well as a diferent sail texture and some alternants for the shields. I am also working on some additionals for the set such as traditional Viking swords, spear and axes, as well as some additionals.

Might be kinda neat to strip it down for a ceremonial burial boat (I think they too had that same shape. No sail, nor ores, and much smaller) Nice work, Eric

I was considering making the prow and stern as seperate props so they could be interchanged with additional pieces for a different look. Still a possibility. but not sure.

Alternative figureheads would be a good addition. Scholars are still arguing over the dragon-heads, and whether they were commonplace on the regular ships. I'd verify, but it was at least a couple of centuries before my time.

Any news on a release date for this?

mertext ( ) posted Wed, 09 October 2002 at 4:44 PM

I've uploaded it to the store along with a Longhouse and 3 simple weapons, all in the set. As soon as the store approves it it will be available. $15.00 for the whole package.
