Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
The problem with the Hydra is the textures. They are bigger than Poser 5 can handle. If you reduce the resolution of the texture maps by 20%, they should work fine. The body textures are at 5000x5000 and the head textures are at 2000x2000. Make them 4000x4000 for the body, and 1600x1600 for the heads. The C exception errors should stop.
maybe a guess. in firefly render the texturesize is limited.look in the left lower of the renderoption menue. in ff draft mode to 1000 and ff productionmode to about 4000. maybe that causes the problem. but i think one can change this manually ( didnt try it till now) only wondering why textures looked so crappy in draftmode before i realised it :-((
I resized my hydra maps 20% body 4000x4000 Head 1600x1600 So the seems match up someone else suggested that res. (Sorry Can't think of who it was now). Not to pick on P5 I really like it. But eveyone keeps saying the textures are the problem that they are too big for Firefly. I disagree I think they are too big for P5. If firefly was the problem then why is the error generated as soon as you apply the maps and not at render time? Also why is there a option for texture resolution. It's a no brainer that P5 is P4 with value added and not new from the ground up, but why does Hydra load and render fine in P4 no errors what so ever. And chokes P5. Also if you go to the materials room P5 locks up. Again for the money what P5 brings to the table is impressive to say the least in my opionion. I'm just annoyed at a few things here and there.
