Subject: Problem with 4.03 Patch

Willowjune ( ) posted Wed, 16 October 2002 at 11:27 AM ยท edited Sat, 03 August 2024 at 12:01 PM

I have Poser 4 with the Pro Pack and a few days ago decided I should download the 4.03 patch (I just did a search in the forum archives and learned that I didn't need the patch because everything in it is in the Pro Pack!). After downloading it, I haven't been able to get into Poser. I get the message that "Poser executable file has encountered a problem and needs to close." I know I could uninstall the whole thing and start over (skipping the patch!), but I have files I'd rather not lose (should have backed them up on the hard drive, but didn't). Any suggestions?

The 4.03 patch is for Poser 4, not the Pro Pack. By installing it, you may have toasted your installation. Don't delete and reinstall, just install on top of itself, you'll keep your libraries that way.

From what I remember, I had to install Poser 4, then the 4.03 patch, then Pro Pack, then the SR3 update. If you installed the 4.03 patch on top of PP, then, like Valandar said, you'll probably have to reinstall P4 and PP. -darlisa

Many thanks! I'll reinstall.

Also remember, if you bought P4 recently, it's already 4.03. I got mine last Nov. and that is what I have. You wouldn't need the patch. Tashar 59
