Hi all, Ive been messing around with Carrara for a little while now, asking the occasional question in this forum now and then, but have yet to post any images. So here goes. I made this wood chest to put into a more elaborate scene that I have yet to render. I really like the old somewhat battered wood texture. The lighting is really simple. I have trouble with lighting things (thats one of the main things thats holding me back with the whole scene I mentioned above).

For a newbie I think Im doing okay. :)

As usual all comments and advice are most welcome.

Cheers,
Max

The brass hardware is a very nice touch to the box. Is the wood texture a texture map (photo)? I can't wait to see the scene since the box is already outstanding on its own.

Thanks tkane, Yup the wood is from a photo. I almost didnt try it as a texture map because I didnt think it would come out well once applied to the object. I was wrong. Im very happy with the result. oh and I also cant wait to see the scene. :o) Cheers, Max
