I ditto Jack's comment. I am still pretty much a newbie and don't know a lot about Poser, Metacreation, or Zygote. But it was the show of good faith demonstrated in the letter posted by Zygote to the Forum that made me change my mind and buy Vicky. If that is how they are known to do business then I will support them when I can. Hope you're right Jack.
I ditto the above comments. If MetaCreations had been as responsive to its loyal customers as Zygote has proven to be with this whole Vickie thing, we'd all have been enjoying Poser 5 (and full integration with Bryce 5?) by now. And if it's not Zygote, let's hope its an entity as market responsive as Zygote is.
Intel Core I7 3090K 4.5 GhZ (overclocked) 12-meg cache CPU, 32 Gig DDR3 memory, GeoForce GTX680 2gig 256 Bit PCI Express 3.0 graphic card, 3 Western Difgital 7200 rpm 1 Tb SATA Hard Drives
Well, Ghost Effects (Larry Weinburg, creator of Poser) has been really good about releasing patches, and I think Larry and the crew have a few things up their sleeves, and if Zygote did buy Poser, then those things could be a reality. I know he was talking about a plugin SDK that was orginally made so Bryce could work with Poser. And think about it, Vickie might be the new default Poser gal, P5 might be more expensive, but if they chuck the old "Lo-Res" versions of the characters, make some more clothes, give us a built in 3D painter (it's just such a pain to have to switch between two apps to get a texture to look just right, I want to be able to do those touchups in Poser) and Zygote markets it aggressivly enough it could be the defacto character animation program out there. Although part of me wants McNeel to get it or Nichiman, it would be nice to have Nurbs support too.

UPDATE 3-30-2000 We have been told that the buyers of the MetaCreations products will be announced by the end of this month, but it looks more like the end of April. We have the understanding that at this point a buyer has been found for all the products with the exception (possibly) of one of the product lines. It has also said that all products would be sold (you heard it first here in January) and it was the hope of MetaCreations that all products would continue to be developed. Note: We (Internet EYE) are not at liberty to reveal which product(s) at this time. MetaCreations had announced this week that Adobe Corporation has purchased Canoma, as it fits well with their publishing (web and otherwise) products very well.
