Growth wise, shape or profile? The tree shape (profile) is open rounded crown. Growth to 115ft. Each tree differs as to branch curlyness depending on enviromnet. Or are you talking about the reeeally twisted branches of the...drat, I lost the name, they're used for home deco, and are real expensive, what is the name, it'll come to me....

Shape-wise. The branches are like very shallow spirals or something. Actually, both the limbs and the branches are curly, while the trunk is more or less straight.

What you describe sounds alot like Mountain Laurel, although Turkey Oak has a variety that has spiky leaves that are variegated green to yellow, and the branches grow laterally and are twisty...just becoming poplar as ornamentals in landscaping...:)

Well, these are, profile, closer to Lombardy poplar than to what's generally thought of as an oak. (And I've seen oaks, there are big forests of big oaks in the East of Croatia.) But these have those leaves and acorns. Nothing else but oaks. :-)

Okay by me, oaks are good luck in most folklore, you just have to watch out for their Dryads...:-)

Incidentally, have had an idea for a pic with a Dryad for a longish time. But it will wait till I learn Poser a bit more.

A satyr and a dryad. I'll try to cobble up a starting WIP today or tomorrow and post it here. The Bryce part is not a big problem, but the morphing and/or propping in Poser will be. Of course, the picture could be done without it, but that won't be that. Hmmm, I just remembered that I could do the morphing in a modelling program. We'll see.
