Subject: Does anyone know what "THE LOFT" is all about?

Just curious what "The Loft" at DAZ is going to be. To me its sound like the name you'd use for a new forum.

Well, apart from being a lousy pun on 3D modelling terminology, a loft is the room where you would usually keep all your old, forgotten junk. Whatever their intention, I think it's a piss poor name.

How about maybe an artist's loft? Just a guess, but they might be separating out the brokered work from the DAZ original work.

I think SamTherapy is correct. They're going to put their older models in there and hopefully sell them at a discounted price.

When all that hullabuloo was going on several weeks ago about their purchase of a forum (Poser Pros?), there was some mention of using the store there to sell some stuff that didn't quite pass the QA requirements for the main DAZ Store. Perhaps this is what "Loft" will be? -- Mark

I dunno, but they do have a bit of a picture up now of something that will be there--apparently a texture for Vicki--in their new Flash homepage.

Daz didn't end up acquiring Poser Pros. They did however acquire Poser Arcana and it seems they have incorporated it into the site nicely. The Vicki picture in the flash (Premier section) is one they have used numerous times in advertising like the 3D World mag. It's rendered in Lightwave, not Poser btw. I think Loft stands for Lots Of Free Things ;)
