What is the best way to set up for an indoor setting when rendering in Bryce?

First, above all else, is turn off sunlight, atmosphere, haze, etc.

Build a room using whatever ratio reality::Bryce units.

Play a lot with radial lights. Use square spots with ranged falloff to simulate radiosity (color the spots to the color of your backgrounds).

Experiment!

Actually, it's much easier to fake radiosity by using weak ambience settings in all your materials. I find the most convenient scale to use is 40 units = about 5 feet, because if you import human figures they always come in 40.96 units high.

Here's a tutorial I found on faking GI. I think it's 3DS max based, but the basic technique can be applied in bryce I think. At least with some fiddling with the settings. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.
