Hi I just got P5 and added my P4 library, but Poser keep asking to locate all the textures and/or obj. is there a way to change "runtime:..." for P4 to "c:metacreationposer4..." ? Thanks

heyas; did you throw your p4 libraries into the p5 libraries? or did you add your p4 runtime to p5? if you did the latter, then it should be able to find everything where it all used to be and all that. if you did the former, that was wrong ;) put the stuff back where it was, then add the p4 runtime. or else throw all the geometries and textures into the p5 diretories, too. to add a new runtime, go into any library, and keep clicking the up folder until you see 'poser' and 'downloads' and one of them has a red ball. then press the + thing, or the triangle thing (i forget which) and you'll see the option to 'add another runtime.'

thanks! I just added the p4 runtime and needed to add manualy the texture directory. Now it's ok ! Thanks

I added my Poser 4 runtime to Poser 5 by adding a runtime folder, but it still asks me to locate all the textures in the poser 4 runtime library. I think the problem is that a lot of the directories in the cr2 are incorrect. They seem to work okay in Poser 4 because it must search the texture folder for them. Poser 5 seems to look for the Poser 4 textures where the cr2 says they are. It would probably search the texture folder in the Poser 5 runtime folder, but it doesn't seem to for the Poser 4 runtime folder. I was able to correct this by changing all the directories in the Cr2s to relative directories. But since I have a lot of poser content, I gave that up and started installing everything into Poser 5. Poser 5 has a better organizational system than Poser 4 did. I suppose I could re-organize the Poser 4 directory like I would want it to appear in 5, but then it wouldn't work in 4 if I needed it to. If I've missed something, quick somebody tell me. Thanks. Kevin

pboooost has a utility that will fix all the links in your library. Its called CorrectReference by Hogsoft in the free stuff here.

don't move your P4 runtime! that is the mistake most people make it needs to stay in the same place in your computers file structure for all of the cr2's to point correctly. use the P5 library structure to point to the P4 runtime folder then neither program will have problems locating textures. though running the P4 runtime through CorrectRefrence will surely help
