This hair room is just great! This time I made a simple waterfall. - load a cube primitive and scale it up to 500% - HAIR ROOM: - select the top row of faces on the front side of the cube for a new hair group - "grow" hair with hair length=1, no.of hairs=100, tip width=5 and root width=5 - pull it down with 1 - kink delay=0, kink scale=300 - calculate - MATERIAL ROOM - select the top of the cube and assign a material "river" - copy the material from the ground plane to "river" - exaggerate the bump map (=5) and make the thing blue - do the same with the ground plane - render The rest is playing with the sliders.... Enjoy!

With salmon jumping. We're a tough crowd huh.

AND a guy in a barrel going over the falls! Just to check the scale... salmon come in various sizes, but barrels are standardized. I hope this works because it dovetails with a concept I sketched out years ago and never had the tools to realize. Carolly

OK, I got the barrel, I got some scene (Dendras' Dungeon Construction Kit) - but the salmon was all out of duty! Had to hire some other fish (um,....) Willy :)

That's it! Right effect, right size, right on!! BTW, you can find salmon at jtrout's site. He is Japanese, and the salmon are called something else, but that is what they are. This pleases me greatly. :) Carolly

I'm not a great artist - lacking story-telling phantasy and all. But I try thinking outside the box (along the line "... what can I do with that besides ...") Thanks for looking. Willy
