THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Bryce products

I'm just wondering if anyone knows the percentage of people actually buying Bryce products. There seem to be so few products available compared to other products lines like Poser. I'm developing a number of models for Bryce to put in the marketplace, but wonder if it is worth my time. I know that Bryce is crippled in a sense because it's models (except terrains and lattices) cannot be exported, but the lack of pure Bryce models is what led me to create them to begin with. On the flipside, I've noticed that Bryce seems to be hugely popular in Europe. Any thoughts?

I personally think that if there were some really good models out there for Bryce, folk would buy them.

There aren't a huge number of models specifically for Bryce, because Bryce can import almost all the model formats (obj, 3ds, lwo, etc.) for use in Bryce. Just about anything except Vue *.vob and 3dsMax *.max (neither of which is importable in Bryce or just about anything else) can be imported and used in Bryce, so there's huge flexibility there. If you make your models in one of those widely used formats, such as .obj, then Poser and most everything else can use them in addition to Bryce. I have lots & lots of models downloaded from the net to use in Bryce. Only about 5% of them are in Bryce's .obp format. Obj works the best because of the way textures can be mapped, though obj files tend to be rather large. All I can say is "GO for it" - good models are always in demand.

Can't see any advantage to having an obp. as opposed to any other format (maybe even messier in wireframe).if people want the models they shall have them no matter what the format.
