Subject: Help needed: shadow problem.

I have been trying to find a way to get a shadow on the ground in P4. When I render for instance V2 without the use of any background props there are only shadows on her body, but not on the ground. How can I solve this? Rynn.

I have never had any success trying to use the default "Ground", so this is what I do: Make a ground prop by using a square from the "Prop Types" subdirectory. Scale it up to 2000 or some such. Select the default Ground and go to Object Properties, then uncheck "Casts Shadow".

I've gotten good results by rescaling the Box prop primitive.

And if you're going to be using it much, might as well download a ready-made prop that will also tile (repeat) textures easily. I have Spanki's free one and Wappen's very inexpensive one, and I think I saw one from Ernyoka, too (I've been away and I'm really behind in Poser Stuff!). When you choose a texture, be sure to choose one that tiles seamlessly (edges meet perfectly). I think Ernyoka provides some with her prop, but you can also find them all over the place in various free stuffs and out on the Web. You can also use it as a wall or ceiling.

Oh yes, my new floor prop has textures to go with it. However it does not tile the texture, the texture is already tiled. If what you need is something that can make tiles in various sizes, try Dial-a-Tile by RoyG, it's very neat (oh and I've made a LARGE texturepak for that as well ;o) - in free stuff) Good luck. Notice that Spanki has a shadow-tutorial at his homepage here. It's very good imo.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
