Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Poser is very very limited in modelling capabilities, so you'd generally make items in other applications. There are clothing items included, but they are basic ones which only fit the default figures.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
Did you misplace your Content CD and manual? Also, you should have a couple libraries full of clothes for the basic Poser figures. The messages you mention are referring to 3rd party content. A lot of people here and other places develop items for sale or for free. And no, unfortunately you can't make your own clothes with Poser; it's not really a modelling app.
Hello, Thank you very much. I have so much to learn I guess. I did review my manual and CD, but not really knowing that much about what I am getting or what to with it, I just thought I would ask. I think I will just wait until a find a book, study some of the examples in the manual and tutorials before I ask anymore questions. This way I can have a better understanding of the product and what it does do, and what it does not. Can someone maybe tell me what software people are using to design the close? This way I can at least get started looking for that and learning how to use it when I start working with Poser. Thank you all very much. This is an excellent forum that you don't have to wait days for an answer. Thorrax
If you're just getting started with Poser, it's going to be a while before you can make your own clothes. I'd recommend becoming familiar with Poser first and just buying other items when you can or downloading them here from the freesuff section. There a ton of great stuff there.
Another one sucked into the vortex! Hahahahaha! Welcome to the insanity. As you delve into the secret mysteries, friends will help you too your goal! Beware the Pink Pony! He gallops into your picture to rip your sense of the real world from your beating chest and lay it on the alter to Naked Vickys! Seriously, most of us here are more than willing to help a newbie. There are hundreds of sites dedicated to Poser, with many of them offering products for sale or for free. There are tons of tutorials available, and I haven't found a bad one yet. Poser 5 has some pretty good help screens for a new user too. Don't be afraid to post your work. The comments can be pretty helpful. Take care, and good posing!

Hello, Sorry for the long title but I did not really know how to ask this question since I am new to 3D and Poser. But looking at some of the tutorials offered, I have printed out a few of them and when I get home from work, I want to attack Poser and get going. But something had caught my attention when I was looking at some of the tutorials, they say something about "importing your favorite clothes, faces, bodies and so forth." Now, (again, please forgive me for being new) but will I not be able to make say, a pair of jeans, or a leather jacket and so forth? Or are these additional Poser software add-ons that I need to purchase? Thank you Thorrax
