Subject: HELP! Setup Room Weirdness!

WTF?!?!? I've been tinkering with a new character, adjusting joints and all. Saved my work in a succession of .pz3's. Fine. Except, tonight I opened the latest file, and when I tried to take the critter into the Setup Room to adjust the groups a bit, the mesh DISAPPEARED! All I see are the bones! And when I go back to the Pose Room, there's still nothing. The selection list still shows him and all of his body parts as being there, but he's gone invisible! I even tried saving him out of the file after reverting back, but the library version still does the same thing. And so long as you don't take him into the Setup Room he works fine, poses just like he should. Here's the weirdest part: the older versions from the previous .pz3's work fine, as do other characters. But the latest, most refined version keeps going AWOL! GAH! I installed SR2-beta3 yesterday, but I don't know why that should have anything to do with it. I haven't worked on him since I installed it, all of the pz3's were saved before that, yet only the newest one won't work. Has anyone ever had this problem? Any idea why it's happening? And most importantly, how do I fix it? There must be SOMETHING wrong with the file, but I'll be damned if I know what it would be or where to look. HELP! I'd made a hell of a lot of fixes in this latest version and I'd hate to have to go back to an earlier version.:(

heyas; this is a toughie. :/ what were you doing between this latest version and the previous version? i mean, were you joint tweaking, messing with the setup bones, or what? if you figure that out, then you'll have an idea of where to start looking for where it messed up. if you were only doing jps, you could splice them into your old pz3 fairly easily. (tediously, but easily.) also, did you save the pz3 while you were in the setup room? i think that's a bad thing. oh, also check the setup room and make sure it isn't doing something bizarre like showing only unboned groups or somesuch. dunno much about the setup room... but can't you just use the grouping tool in the main room to re-do the groups? (probably not, right?)

I'd done some work on the groups themselves since the previous save, so it's more than just a matter of jp's. Nope, I saved from the Pose Room. I didn't do anything any different from when I saved the first two scenes. In the Setup Room, it's only showing the bones. The complete skeleton, but no mesh at all. And when I go back to the Pose Room, it's still gone. You can select the body or arm or leg, but there's not actually anything there. And the figure works fine in the Pose Room until you try to take it in the Setup Room. Poses properly, no missing parts or other oddities, which makes the whole thing even more confusing. The .pz3 is apparently corrupt somehow, and that corruption is carried over even when I save the character in the library. But I have no idea what to fix. Bizarre, eh?

I may be able to do what I need to with the Group Tool in the Pose Room, I haven't had time to try that yet. But I'd really like to figure out what happened just the same.
