I'm new to bryce 5 and still learning. I am having problems importing mat and br4 files. Am I missing something. Fogive if I seem dumb.

For mat files I'd say you go to the material library and click on 'import'. You should get a standard open/import-menu to navigate to your mat files and import them. To open BR4 files go to file/open and change the file-type to .BR4.
