Subject: P4PP trashed by stupidly opening on 800x600 screen - Recover w/o reinstall?

Yeah, I did it. My system has a dual-monitor setup and am playing with stereoscopic shutter glasses on the CRT monitor which requires low screen resolutions (640x480 or 800x600) for higher refresh rates. I made the mistake of opening Poser 4 w/PP when the monitor was set to 800x600. When I did this, a message appeared that my screen size was not large enough and "Poser" would fix everything. Well, they fixed everything alright. Now I can no longer see anything in the document window, no matter what I do, and whenever I attempt to render, it says that there isn't enough memory (64MB video, 1GB DDR RAM). I've tried everything, including setting to factory state, copying a backup set of prefs into the current set, looking for updated files and registry settings, all with no success. The image above shows the results of my stupidity :). Any information leading to a resolution would be highly appreciated. Why do I not just reinstall? I also have Poser 5 installed and would then have to reinstall Poser 4, Pro Pack, Pro Pack SR3, Poser 5, Poser 5 SR2, and all data (yikes!). Thanks BeatYourSoul

It won't let you resize the document window in the "window" settings? Are all of you figures/props invisible? or just really small?

Either resize the document window or reset your preferances to open to factory. Close poser and reopen it.. Should fix the problem

I can resize the document window, but the "displayed region" (in grey) remains the same size. Everything within the display is invisible. The figure is there, fully "in view", but unseeable. I only see the selected outlines. Tried resizing, turning it off and back on, tried resetting to factory states (where it is now), tried everything (!!). Plus, something somewhere else must have been changed, since it complains incorrectly on render attempts or just dies on start of render with 99% cpu usage. If this is a changed Registry setting, I have no idea where CL keeps them as a search on Poser, Curious Labs, etc, revealed nothing of interest. BeatYourSoul

Ahhh!!!!! Okay. I checked CL's FAQ's and it seems there is a reason and solution to this problem. If you have more than 2GB of memory (not me) OR set the initial virtual memory size above 2GB, it does this. I had set it to 4GB (to match the max size). Upon setting it to 2GB, I can now see my figures. BeatYourSoul
