Subject: Apologies if this is a stupid question

Is the Writers area of RR new? Where do I go to read other people's stories? Thanks :)

Not a stupid question...it's just that the stories and poems are scattered throughout the archives. The Library has some contest and challenge winners posted, but it's a bit of a search to find the rest. I don't have the history on the forum....looks like it has been around at least since July of 2002. I'm sure someone else would be able to fill you on its beginnings. Welcome. I hope you will stay and post. :)

If you haven't "Marked All Messages Read", then you should see all the posts for a long time. The stories and poems are sprinkled throughout. Sometimes, with meaningful titles that suggest a story. Other times, not so clearly marked. There were lots of submissions for Halloween. Lots of poetry challenges (usually by tjames). Take some time and look. I think you'll find it's worth it. One gets to meet a lot of writing styles in here. And, it's a good sounding board for your own creativity.

Welcome tricky the Australian connection. I look forward to seeing your artwork and your writing. Try to keep the writing short though Randy likes to keep us around 2000 characters or less. Try to imagine what would you put under a graphic to help enhance the picture. I especially like poems because of the maximum use of economy of words and vignettes short graphic prose. You see D' I like prose especially when it suggests a graphic.I just have trouble with length.

Asking a relevant question is not stupid! Sigh Apologizing for no reason is a common theme around here, so I think you'll fit in just fine. ;-) We don't have a gallery proper like the graphics forums, so right now you need to read through the posts to look at submitted stories. We do have contest and challenge winners in the Library. And of course you're more than welcome to post your own poems and stories here as well. If you have a longer piece, you can break it up into a few posts within the same thread. If you have an accompanying graphic, feel free to post it with your writing, but keep it smaller than what you'd post in one of the galleries. Cheers!

I'm sorry.

Just thought I'd appologize for no reason too, so that I'd fit in better too! :-)

Welcome tricky. Eager to see some of your stuff.
