VIDandCGI ( ) posted Wed, 11 December 2002 at 10:17 PM

Correct Answers will be from the Original books and not the films btw folks (just in case theres a difference - no slight on the films as I loved the first, 2nd doesnt come out in the UK till Dec 18th) BTW did I mention Lil Dude has several morphs and will soon be getting a P5 hairdo cur. of ziggy3d.

Fangorn forest.

Which name do you want? 1) Fangorn 2) Entwood 3) Tauremornal4) Ambara 5) Tauremorna 6) AldalFangorn was also the name of the master of the forest is called by some, Treebeard by others, and something very long and un-hasty in True Entish (as opposed to the short tongue). Here's a bit harder of one: In The Two Towers, Isengard was flooded and Saruman driven to take refuge locked inside Orthanc. What year was it when this happened?

_dodger ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 2:45 AM

Presumably there's another name in True Entish that is also extremely un-hasty and would take seevral years to recite, describing all the names of all the trees and their ancestry within.

Third Age 3019, Shire Reckoning 1419. Probably on March 3rd (SR), though possibly not until the next day (Tolkien wasn't too clear).

_dodger ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 7:48 AM

Impressive. Most impressive. How old was Sauron's tobacco?

pdxjims ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 8:13 AM

Evil man... About 2 years. It was from the SR 1417 crop. Hornblower from Southfarthing if I remember right. Of course, a good year. How long was the Entmoot? And what was the name of the Ent who cared for Merry and Pippin while they waited? Why was he called hasty? VIDandCGI, you should never have started us going (grin).
