Product Notes

Walking Cane***An ornate walking cane, with hardwood shaft, and solid metal "gargoyle" handle, metal junctions, and rubber tip. This model is built entirely of quad polygons and subdivisonal modeling techniques, and consists of 14,878 total polygons, and 15,112 vertices. The model has been UV unwrapped, and comes complete with diffuse, specular, gloss, and bump maps for each sub-object material zone; however, you can use your own seamless procedural materials instead, if you desire. There are 6 sub-object elements to this model; each of which can be assigned it's own unique material. I recommend using the maps provided as a basis for a reflective brass material, with worn edges, as seen in the example renders of this object. All of the preview renders were done with exactly the same texture maps provided with the model, using the Octane render engine, and Octane's glossy materials. The specular maps are intended for use in a reflection channel, and the glossy maps can be used in an appropriate channel to blur the reflections. Each texture map was created to 2048x2048, which should be suitable for most close-up rendering. The model is available in several scale-specific OBJ files, for use in other applications, like Blender, Poser, or Daz Studio. Most OBJ users will need to load the reflection and glossy maps manually in their software, as the export/import options of the OBJ will not automatically load them with the model. ***OBJ Users, please refer to the instructions below for specific direction on how to load this model into your scenes. You are free to use or modify this model as you see fit for your own projects or scenes. As with all my freebies, this model can be used for both commercial and non-commercial renders. You may NOT, however, resell or redistribute these models or textures, or any derivative of them; individually, or as part of a package/set.*** OBJ USERS: There are 3 different OBJ files, and one MTL file for this model. You will notice that two of the three OBJ files are labeled for specific applications (Poser and Blender). It's recommended to use these in the specific application. POSER USERS: The OBJ with (POSER) suffix was exported with a scale conversion that will allow the object to load with appropriate scaling into Poser 9 and above, or Daz Studio 4 and above, with Poser import settings. To import this file into Poser, please BE SURE to DE-select all the check box options in the OBJ Import Options dialogue box. DESELECT the "Centered", "Place On Floor", "Percent of Standard Figure Size", etc. so that no options are checked. This will import the object exactly as intended into the scene, with proper scaling. DAZ STUDIO users: Select "File/Import", then navigate to the folder on your hard drive that contains the model in this pack. Choose the "(POSER).obj". In the Import Options dialogue box, pick the Poser (1unit=8ft) option in the "FROM" drop-down list. Be sure all other options are checked, and click "Accept". BLENDER USERS: Select the "(BLENDER).obj". All other software packages should import the standard "walking_cane.obj" without specific suffix.
