I posted freebies through the winter, hope you liked them, I also attempted using DazStudio. Big thanks to everyone who helped me to understand how it works. I gave up, not because I found a lot of problems, I enjoyed using it. But since I'd used Poser for almost twenty years I found I couldn't get my work flow going. I'm too used to using Python scripts. Think I'll get a dinosaur as my avatar. So I guess that's all folks until next winter!

This is a very simple prop that is parented to the figure's right eye at around arm's length and locked. As the head or eyes move, the guide shows where the eye is pointing. The material settings are set so that the prop is visible in the preview, but not in a render- or, you could just tick 'visible' in the object properties menu. There are two, one for M4 and one for V4, you can set the preview colour 'diffuse color' to one you feel suits the background in the Materials window. If you can't see the prop and want to make it bigger, 'unlock' it first (Object>LockActor). Reset the figure to zero before you move the prop in or out by the 'Ztran' control. Made in Poser 6, this is to add-on to my eye clock.
File size 20KB Put it into any 'Prop' folder in your Poser Runtime.

You can use this idea for ANY FIGURE with an eye 'bone'. You can look at my settings to make it invisible in renders, or you could just make it invisible when you want to render. I chose to use the right eye, I set the figure to zero. I chose a primitive prop. I aligned it to the eye by showing the 'origin' (green cross) of the primitive prop, then opened joint editor, select the eye. Then I set the prop centre to the eye centre. Moved the prop Ztran to about arms length from the eye. scaled it, from 'Editing tools' chose grouping tool. Made a new prop, named it. Configured it in the Material room, then Display>Element style. Then Object>lock actor. Parented it to the eye. Bingo! Then, deleted the original prop, saved the new eye prop as a 'smart prop'. The figure needs to be zeroed first before making the guide or when the figure is reset after a pose the smart prop will move to some odd position.
