Description

Hi all! This is the ruins of the once magnificent Castle Kildrummy in Scotland. It was absolutely pouring when I took this shot.Sadly most of the pics from that day aren't salvageable.Luckily this one managed to be spot-free. Sorry Pascale and those of you who are annoyed by scrolling.I just couldn't help myself with this one.I just love the way it looks at this size. Hope y'all like it and not mind this little self-indulgence on my part.Have a great one!-Marlene :)

Looks like a bit of Ireland. Hope the Scots don't mind my having said that. It brings back memories when I was in Europe, specifically backpacking in Ireland back in 76. Glad you have this image from that day. You coould alwyas turn the other ones into art??

Ancient ruins are what we have in abundance. I hope you enjoyed your stay in my ancient land? You have captured this really well and it seems in quite adverse weather conditions.

Solemnity. The weather of rain makes very good mood. The composition is also wonderful. Declining castle. Living forest. I see the transience of power in solemn scenery. It is a excellent point of this composition. /|:o)

Wonderful atmosphere in this shot. The low clouds/heavy rain that obscures the forest is the perfect companion to the ruins. Very nice!

Ohhh, I love the mist/fog in the picture! With the crumbling ruins of an old castle, this image looks very surreal and Medieval. I love it!

The branches and the mist, heavy in the atmosphere, enhance the feeling of abandonment. And there's an empty window framing the conflicts of the past. Maybe the other's didn't turn out, but this one is a treasure.
