Description
The abandoned convent of San Roman, Medinaceli, Spain. Originally thought to be the site of a Jewish synogogue. There are certainly lots of Moorish ceramic shards (dating from the 9th century) over the side of the hill on the other side of the village. It must have been their rubbish dump.
I once fell through a hole in the floor of this ruin and found myself in a room full of shelves neatly lined with skulls. I keep wondering what sort of life these nuns led! How many were there against their will?

I was hoping it would be a lot closer than Spain, for I would be there in heart beat. I just love ruins and antiquity. Hope you fall was not serious in any way. Any more photographs of the inside? Would love to see them. Have a great weekend.

Weird place, glad you came out of that place without problems, a fall down might cause you to break something!

A convent with a skull collection? Hmmm... If it's very old I suppose they might have had their "own" tombs once upon a time. Most ruins look great once you know what they have once been, and these are no exception. Very nice!

Seguro que ese lugar esthechizado... un monton de almas en pena rondando entre las ruinas ! Lo de la habitaci con las calaveras me parece genial... me encantar verla !
