I was browsing CNN today. Came across an article about 5000 tribesmen from Pakistan who declared they are heading into Afghanistan to fight with the Taliban. They spoke of dying for their cause, and their commitment to their jyhad. But like most folks in the middle east, they, like us, know little truth of the other side. They were off to fight their holy war, and that was that. I was curious at what they had been told. Did their mullahs tell them they would be fighting american troops in a conventional way? What dangers where explained to them? What kind of weapons the United States can bring to bear on a battlefield? So far, it's been the usual types. Bombs that explode, smart missles, ect. Then I remembered back to the Gulf War, and recalled a weapon that terrified me. So I went looking, and found this. I hope they understand what may find them. We have many of these in our arsenal, and they are merciless in their destruction. Hiding in bunkers or trenches is irrelevant. When a FAE is used, nothing lives in it's wake. Tunnels, caves, nothing survives. I hope they understand this. And I believe they are waiting in the wings. Terrible, yes...effective, definatly. I am certain we are on the brink of introducing them into this war. Woe unto those caught in their effect. Surely they will get their wish to meet Allah.

Yes Lingster. It is an FAE, a CBU-72. 15,000 lb. fuel air bomb. They were used in Desert Storm, to great effect. They are a terrible weapon, and this second frame is only the ignition of the weapon. I hope we do not have to resort to their use. But it seems a viable option now. shivers

I really dont' believe you used the term Allah and what is happening in the same sentance. You must be a godless person. For GOD what ever you may call him has nothing to do with what happened on 9/11/01. If you dont's realize that there is only ONE GOD no matter what you call him. I have thought from the word GO that Fuel Air bombs are the way to go with tunnel rats. I probably sound horrible but realistically, we can lose many many ground troops fighting the Taliban on their own terms or we can simply use FAE. SOOOO effective especially on large groups of taliban spread over a wide area in caves....sunnrise4u....no offence but maybe you should stop looking inside yourself and start reading the tabloids..these ppl will HAPPILY die in war as it guarantees a place in "heaven".oh and by the way did you know that they get 12 beautiful virgins when they arrive and that they are also guaranteeing a place in heaven for 72? members of their families too..they are brainwashed from an early age to believe this.so if this "Allah"is the same God as yours...I think u might have yer wires crossed a lil bit.

The Taliban force a lot of men to join their troops. Those men are no brainwashed lads who are happy to die but rather guys who are forced at gun point to fill the ranks of the Taliban. And jimjabbo, you are making the mistake of equalizing the construction of Islam by fanatics with mainstream Islam. That serves only the purpose of Bin Laden who wants to instigate a "clash of civilizations".
