I made the helmet in lightwave. As you can see I'm pretty hopless... I did the red trim by booleaning cuboids out of the initial helmet shape. I've left all the faults untouched by post so you can see my problem. Can anyone recommend any good tutorials that would cover this kind of thing? Or even any hints to help me out? :)

looking excellent : ).... Id peronally make the red trim using the stencil drill tool or build your whole object and make a UV map for it... great work so far : ) love his chin

I think I would do the Trim with a UV Mapped Texture. Looks great so far

Have you tried dragging the stray points closer to the edges? Other than that, I'd try the UV map too.
