I've been longing to see this picture ever since you told me about it. It's even more beautiful than I imagined. You are both the light and the darkness, the life giving sun and the lifeless black disc of a planet in transit over the sun's face. Technically, this could be Poe's "Oval Portrait", a painting seeming to take on a life of its own, with the tints taken from the cheeks of the subject. Welcome back, Rodica!

Agree with Nigel and Cindy here, your style is so uniquely yours and I've been looking forward to another from you for a good while now ;-) You have a way with colours and smooth painted textures that's very much your own. Good accuracy of curved streaks and converging flash lines. Nice to see you too :-)

Rodica, you know what would be a trip? To have the Carina Nebula exploding next to you. Wisp Extensions, color tentacles (attached to your hair) and all.

They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night. -Edgar Allan Poe. Beautiful Rodica, and so is your painting.

You know...I like it that there are Artists like you who, possess' the ability to mesh what's visual and what's not seen really well. Colors just seem to take a life of their own in your works...then right here, I see something very tangible and everything in it's place with the fine...fine detail work on that red gown---WOW! This is truly some inspired work and the subject just makes me sigh.

Heureux de ton retour ! Une peinture assez diffente de ton inspiration habituelle. Toutefois, il y a toujours toujours ce contraste noir/couleur que j'apprie beaucoup dans tes oeuvres !!!

What a gorgeous portrait ... and what a spectacular representation of deliverance from darkness. At least that's what I think this represents ... or at least a new beginning after a sojourn with "Satan Jr.." Excellent work. V
