Yesterday, actor James Doohan went on to greener pastures at the age of 85. Yes, Scotty was beamed up to that great Enterprise in the sky. I hope Bones was there to meet him and that they are exploring that "final frontier" together. This is another photo from the wilds of central Florida. It was taken about 1 1/2 hours after the photo Chasing The Blue was taken, and you can still see the giant Cumulonimbus towering over the other clouds in the distance. Thankfully, its thunderstorms never reached me and I just was showered upon a little bit. When people think of Florida, endless sandy beaches and palm trees are what usually come to mind. But north of the Everglades, there are huge streches of farms, pasture lands and forests. Here you see a natural clearing adjacent to a ranch between the towns of Wildwood and Bushnell. One of these days, I'm going to hike out into those untamed places before they all get developed by the seemingly unstoppable human tide...

I know that my comment on your "happiness" post may have sound a little bit strange. The last sentence of your text, today, is one of the reasons that can explain these words. About this shot: I'm just a little bit jealous. I've been working, one hour ago, on a serie of my recent shots having the same kind of landscapes... but... GRRRR!! (have you noticed that the Enterprise was there when you shot this?) Be careful, TedZ must be around!

Oh my! This reminds me of France!! it's the pine trees!! Pine trees are my fav trees of them all!! They mean "summer" and "holiday" and "happiness"!! Superb shot Kortalouche darling, so inviting!

I just left florida for the reason you stated(population explosion). Get all the pics you can of its natural beauty..It's quickly disappearing. Interesting how the trees on the left and the ones on the right lean in towards eachother. Wonderful pic.

awwww...didn't know of his death till just now. sigh...a legend he was. 85??? that's incredible! i can't believe he was that old. sigh. i forget how old i am though. anyway, what a beautiful tribute! the colors are magnificent, i feel such power in this piece...almost like the clouds are chasing me! would be so much fun to run thru these fields!!!! even better to be beamed up in these clouds and take a ride thru the sky! :) Incredibly beautiful capture, Kort!
