Close of the Day by TwoPynts

Since clouds seem popular right now, I thought I'd close out the work week with another dramatic sky photo. This sunset shot was taken last Saturday in The Villages, FL, just north of Wildwood (mentioned in yesterday's comments). While the unadjusted shot was dramatic, I did enhance it a bit in Photoshop using a technique I recently learned. You can view a wider angle photo of this sunset and read my tutorial for this technique HERE. I also darkened the photo by duplicating the background layer, changing the layer from Normal to Multiply in the Layers pallete, adjusting it's opacity and then flattening the image again. I hope everyone had a good week and I wish everyone a wonderful weekend! Thank you for stopping by and for your comments on yesterday's image, Greener Pastures.

Wonderful sky! My focus is drawn to an unusal (Shadow?) near the center of the image, in the clouds...very strange! The colors are fabulous!! Much as I would expect they looked to you when you took the image. Excellent work!

Wow, what a sunset. Superbly catched with the plants in the foreground, I love it, also that firey hole in the clouds ... when seeing such pictures, I always come close to understand why people need to imagine somebody in heaven to creat such beauty. It is sometimes hard to believe that it is only nature and not some creator. Well, it can be only nature forming such beauty ... Excellent!!!

Ah, you emphasize the red channel and then the golden colors get deeper! Fantastic work, Kort! Great to add to article here! It makes it all more dramatic! Fuji stuff is great but for me it's usually the Sensia line :)

I don't know who wrote this sentence (the bold one) but I totally agree with it... And your picture illustrates it perfectly. Thanks also for the tutorial!

beautiful capture - and thanks for the tutorial to simulate Velvia - one reason why I like the Fujifilm S3 pro is that you simply choose Film Simulation=F2 and you get the same effect...

Dramatic effect with the PW, although mother nature does a great job on her own most of the time. Sunsets/sunrise are my favorite times to shoot because of the deep vibrant colors as seen in this image...Nice work Kort~ Have an excellent weekend~ Aloha~
