Description
When humans finally made their push to the stars, it wasn't without cost... Not every colonist ship made it to its destination, and even for some that did the last mile would prove too much.
On distant worlds, the twisted and rusted hulks of starships stand as testiment to the bravery of those that set out to make new homes...

Like it. Almost exactly a shot from Halo?

Glad you like it! Halo? Not a games player I'm afraid, though of course I know of it... The picture is inspired by a great old image by Angus Mckie as well as some of the background artwork from the Manga film 'Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust'

I love a good storyline behind a well executed idea. Well done!

Hi Pakled - yes http://lwg3d.com/ is a lightwave site, and you have to register (free). However, Magma's texture packs are jpg's with bump maps, transparencies, etc, and work quite happily within Bryce. They are fabulous for those of us who like building spaceships! ;-)

I like this, well done!

Was this at all inspired by the book of the same name? Anyway, it's quite an impressive image.

Hi 19Paul - thanks! In answer to your question: Yes and no! The Angus Mckie image I mention above is in the book 'Spacewrecks', but I don't have the book. I have that particular image in a Paper Tiger book called 'Flights of Icarus'. This book reprints images that appear in a number of the 'Terran Trade Authority' books, but as far as I know tha Angus Mckie image is the only 'spacewreck' included. ;-) Also - again, as mentioned above the Manga 'Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust' has some fantastic backdrop art - including one (very short unfortunately) scene with a huge wrecked spaceship in a desert... Great artwork.
