Description

these are common in central US and I think they are a type of stink bug that releases a foul smell chemical that causes predators to leave them alone. If our resident bug experts knows the true identity please tell me thanks so much for your time visiting and comments are appreciated.I hope youhave a wonderful weekend Meredith sent me an im to let us know she is fine and over ran with work. She will return as soon as a large project is finished at work. She sends her love

We have them here too, only they are a very dark brown with a yellow stripe on them. They love to eat squash and various veggies!! They are a pest and I have always wondered if this is not what is referred to as the potato bug. So much for speculation!! Excellent shot, Richard!! V

I don't the scientific name, but they don't seem to mind being called whatever! I've seen them both in Arizona and Oregon where they do just fine. As described above, slightly different colors depending on the surroundings. Nice shot!
