I wanna bee. I checked this out georgeclarke and I think you are right. I think it is Dasypoda hirtipes and it is indeed a bee...!!!. After all the hoverflies I saw I really thought it to be another hover.. but it's a bee. Thank you for letting me know. Minolta dimage 7i
