Description

Hi everyone.SURPRISE!Finally a pic that's NOT from Scotland!LOL! The other day I wanted to take a little break from my Scotland pics and just started playing with this one.It came out kind of interesting so I thought I'd upload it today and see what you guys think. It's funny.I'm finding it very hard to be objective about it!!!I couldn't make a single decision about it! What thumb, what size, what frame, what name,...Sigh,I drew blanks on all of them! 'Self-portrait Number II' seemed rather dull so I finally decided to use the title of a song I love from Lifehouse.I will probably put this in the forum for the July challenge and if I do,I will put some of the lyrics there. They're quite beautiful. Well that's it.Say what you will.I'm ready, lol. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.I look forward to hearing what you think of it.And as always your opinions and suggestions will be most appreciated...-Marlene :)

WOW, i think its really coooool!!! I love that dreamy unfocused touch you gave it. Very nice indeed!!! And hey...did i read you correctly? Youre not happy about this frame? SLAP SLAP SLAP!!! There!!! That should teach to say such silly things, LOL. Are you kidding me? You framed this one just beautifully, gave it even more class by keeping it pitchblack like that. And having your signature that small only adds a little extra elegance to it. Sooooo silly, stop doubting yourself will ya. You did great....ONCE AGAIN!!! Have a wonderful weekend #:O)

minimal frame is best, presentation works very well to my eye. Zacko's dreamy description suits my thought as well. Lovely work.

The frame is perfect to me, ur pose is a classic and it always works beautifully especially with such a gorgeous model as urself! Now, I'm not keen on the effect because of the burnt out highlights! This always makes my teeth cringe! I would love to see the original!! Plz, pretty plz!! The image in itself is wonderfully classy though! :)

LOL!Yes Kort I thought of that...It's not the glow filter,Delmur. It was blur and just playing with different contrasts. And obviously b/w conversion(duotone). That's all. :)

First, I want to say I'm very flattered that you changed the name of your previous post at my suggestion. Thank you, Marlene. :) As for this image, it is wonderful - just the right touch of softness and mystery. I don't think you could improve it in any way. It's strikingly beautiful. V

It does get hard sometimes to make decisions about the uploads and sometimes you just gotta go for it. And you did! Bravo for YOU!!! Part of being an artist/photographer is taking risks and baring the brunt of the critics...our friends of rosity. Luckily...they are kind critics aren't they? You did a marvolous job! This is absolutely one of the most elegant portraits I have ever seen! It is demure and subtle, yet powerful with overwhelming character! The tones are dramatic yet soft! In short, this is quite a wonderful work of art! Bravo!

Looks like charcoal and chalk pastels. Think this would look equally as good as a mono print without the effects applied if the lighting is the same. Nicely done.

I will use this artistic work for the book cover of a romantic novel. Or...I will use this for the poster of the romance movie that cast Robert De Niro. A lot of stories exist in this. There are stories of the same number as the number of viewers. Work that stimulates imagination very much!! Take me away? Sure! I will take you to morikami. /|:o)

I think the highlight is a bit bright.Pose and mood are really making me oversee that though.Framing is right on. So it does pay off taking the time to frame nicely.

Dear friend, I find this portrait really nice to begin with. The lighting is excellent, the pose is excellent....overall an excellent composition. But....there is something lacking which I want to point out as you say you are ready for it......the hair on the forehead part..... appears over saturated...almost white.... as white as if a the layer of a Photograph has been torn from that place. Now, there is another possibility....my Monitor isn't right. It is an old one I am working on right now ( 5 years old) and sometimes I notice that what appears cool on my screen doesnt seem as cool on other screens. Anywhich way...I appreciate your efforts. if you ask me how the whiteness can be tackled....maybe you could a toning of the image in some photo software, so that the white seems more toned than white. :O))
