Description
I thought I'd end the week with something colorful. This is a photo of the metal face of an outdoor junction box. It probably houses phone wires or cables. It is located next to a sprinkler and over time, the well water used by the sprinkler system has given it this rusty, oil slick shimmery patina. The larger central image is pretty much the way it looks, with some levels and saturation adjustment. I know it looks like some sort of "Eye Candy" filter, but none were used. The variations on either side were achieved simply by adjusting the Hue in Photoshop one way or the other. I could have removed the scratches and other marks, but felt they added a little character so I left them in. You can view the central image at 60% of original size on my website by clicking HERE.
