Description

Taken On my vacation at silver lake beach MI, It had rained hard right before this shot-earlier that night and morning. Chrissy wanted to swim so badly in the salt less waves...I can still smell the soft lakeside air and the lake water as I think of it. My Grandmothers house had lake water running from her faucets and shower and had a slight smell of fish to me so I didn't like to drink it at first . . then I got used to it after a few days .. and loved the deep lakeish smell for some odd reason. Perhaps it reminded me of magical childhood summers spent there with my Grams.. I am used to sparkelttes purified water for drinking only... but it was soft to feel take a shower in and my skin felt more alive and glowing then the LA water. Oh yes, I sure DO miss the smell of that wonderful big beautiful lake... it got inside of me somehow and stuck ! This past week ,I have been longing to go back. like IT's pulling me there... from my past ancestors. Hard to explain. Someday I had hoped to retire there , as my mother has - there near that lake -my Grandmothers house. This beach is not to far from this place here.. And is known as one of the 10 nicest beaches in America. I love the puffy passy windy clouds that morning, it seemed magical and surreal and like the sky never ended. And I miss being there already. The soft silky sand underfoot. SO this was after the storm and gusty. And wondrous to me. I snapped this shot of the beach and the far off lighthouse and pier that morning. I didn

The narrative is beautiful and takes the reader into your own world, just a shame that there isn't sound with this image, it would then have totally complete...just like a dream.

Oh, what a marvelous perspective - love looking through the wheat like plants to view that incredible sea-blue lake and sky - marvelous colors and mood and I can see why you didn't want to leave. I never saw skies like that either when we lived in LA/Orange County - now they are a glorious part of our daily life, like giant masterpaintings that go on forever. You captured all the natural beauty and love your story. V. :o) CC

Such a beautiful sky it was!LOL! I know what you mean about not getting skies like that.Since I joined RR I realise living so close to NYC means we get these pale blue boring skies and nothing like the drama we frequently see here.I can see why you felt compelled to capture it.What a lovely shot Kimmie.Your perspective is wonderful on this and the color is just fabulous.Its great!-M :)
