Slain's castle,Cruden bay,Scotland Hi all!Time for another pic from good old Scotland!LOL.I'm sure you're all soooo shocked! I took this as I was wandering around the ruins of Slain's castle,on the rugged northeast coast. This castle is perched on a clifftop, and if it were'nt sunny,it would have been almost creepy. In fact, this castle ruin inspired Bram Stoker to write 'Dracula'!He used to holiday nearby and another of his stories,'Mystery of the Sea',is based on a local ghost story. It is unfortunate that the castle suffered modernization in the 19th century, and if the gossip of two locals is to be believed, there are plans in the works to turn it and its surrounds into housing! What a terrible shame that would be!:( Any way,as I said,it was sunny,VERY sunny in fact. And the atmosphere was really quite lovely. All these wonderful shadows and rays of light were everywhere. I have several shots of this ruin.I hope you like this because I would love to share them with you! Please feel free to offer your most valuable opinions and commentary. Thank you for looking and have a great week!!!!! Marlene (PS-I have been having internet and pc problems but I assure you I will get to all of your wonderful work.I love seeing what you've done!)

this is a really special one, Marlene! I love the way you took this...looking thru that door. the lighting is just exquisite! has the darkness to give a bit of mystery, and the way the lighting falls on the ruins showing the texture is fabulous! and seeing the sea like that...the soft, billowy clouds...i'm ready to step out into the light!!! I love this one so much! and the way you framed it really set is off!!! Outstanding capture! one of your best! A+++++++

A great capture and view of the sea Marlene. This is the kind of photo that stops me dead in my tracks and makes me listen to my inner thoughts. Tony.
