This is not a bee; but, what they call a 'yellow jacket'. We had a lot of them in the Chicago area - but none in Arizona. Very good shot John!

nope...don't think it is a yellow jacket (wasp). Think it is a fly of some type.

Awesome postwork here, quite cool looking !! :o) Superb work !! This is a hoverfly, could be Striped Hoverfly (Helophilus pendulus). But i cant be sure cos i cant see its upper side to well. But im pretty sure its Helophilus sp. though :o)
