Description

This is a collaboration between two artist, myself and Andreas (Zacko)! I wanted to put both our names on it, but Andreas declined, because they were my photos. But I want you to know I could not have posted this without him. I had taken these pictures earlier this month and had been trying to stitch them together for weeks. I just was not getting the results I wanted. There were too many areas of color differences and I was getting frustrated trying to blend them. Andreas is the "stitch master" and naturally I asked him to take a look and see if he could help. Within a day or two I had my panorama! It was even framed! The only other postwork I added were to adjust the brightness and contrast and blend a spot or two I thought I could do without ruining the whole thing! So thank you, Andreas, for all your expertise! I owe you a truckload of M&Ms! Thank you to everyone who takes the time to scroll this enormous panorama! And now a bit about the picture itself: As I said, I had taken this earlier in the month, on my way to work one morning. I saw there was a hot air balloon off in the distance in the direction I was heading. I was hoping to get a picture of it in the air and reflecting off the water, but by the time I got close enough it was already landing, darn! That's when I decided to try and get a panorama shot. This is actually about 8 pictures altogether! This is an area we call the Alkaline Ponds. It is very close to an area of hot springs and is not very deep at all. In the winter people ice skate on it and in summer you will see windsurfers! Just behind the balloon is my favorite mountain, Mt. Morrison, to the right of that is Mammoth Mountain, then the Minerets, Mt. Ritter, Mt. Banner, looking towards June Lake, and on the right we have the Glass Mountains. Mammoth Mountain (Mammoth Pass) is the lowest point in the Sierras for two hundred miles in either direction. Hence the amount of snow fall the ski area gets every winter (avg. 325 inches)! Thank you so much for taking the time to view my post! Please stop by Andreas' (Zacko) gallery! He is the "Stitch Master" and has several examples there. Have a great day!

BLUSH!!!!! You make me sound like a tailor, LOL. Of course i had to take a break out from my break and comment on this one. I assure you Kim, it was all my pleasure helping you out with this one. Each shot was gorgoeus and could easily have "made it" on its own. Yup, this is a place i must visit sometime. Gorgeous landscape captured beautifully by YOU!!! Yes..by YOU!!! So if anyone deserves recognition its you, but the fact that you also gave me credit for what i did shows what a wonderful person and friend you are. Thank you. You really made my day....evening actually...hmm...edit..midnight, lol. Okay...should better stop rambling now since people shouldnt have to scoll too much in both ways, LOL. Have a wonderful day sweety!!! HUGS!!! #:O) Bla bla bla...backing away from RR to some R&R instead....P.S. Need i say that im definitly adding this one to my Favs?

THis is somewhat more than 180degrees? Doesn't matter really, it's just one heck of a fine image. Kudo to Zacko, but he had some outstanding photos to work with I think.
