Description

This is another of my doodling in spectrum light and colors. I like the refracted light beams through the marbles but I don't much like the marbles themselves. They don't quite look like glass. They seem too metallic to me. But all they are is the Bryce standard glass with a color given to them. Maybe it is my sky settings or something. I don't really know.

They look cool. Love the light going through them. I'm not sure about metalic but I thought more plastic than glass. I don't know anything about Bryce but this is awesome!

Looks nice nevertheless!

Possibly it is the specularity and the refraction level, plus the light configuration. Getting glass or crystal to look "real" has been the hardest thing for me in Bryce. Still like ACH says it looks nice never the less.

This is neat. I wish I could offer help but I'm not there yet myself

Cool work! To fix the marbles, try lowering metallicity and ambience and reflectivity, while keeping specularity where it is, and raising transparancy. Bryce texturing is evil but fun once you get it all worked out.

Interesting use of coloured light;) Well done!

I think I had too many light sources. When I do this scene and take some of my lights away as I get fewer and fewer the marbles look more and more like what I think they should. But then, I lose my nice rainbow light swashes coming through the marbles. By-the-way, all of my lights are white. The color comes from passing through the colored glass. There are 80 round-parallel lights to make this scene; plus a low sun. For Moongoat: diffusion, ambience, metallicity, & reflection are all zero. Specularity and transparency are 100. Refraction is 152. Like I said, Bryce "standard glass" settings.

I think this is a wonderful image! You may not be happy with the refraction? I know that makes a huge difference in the "Glassiness" (Word?). THe lights and color are what really make this image!!
