Description

Finding new flowers is always an excitement for me. With 3000 species Switzerland offers a nice variety of plants ranging from subtropical zones to nival zones. A remarkable find is this gentian, schleicher's gentian (Gentiana schleicheri), that appeared to be white in stead of blue. Albino flowers lack the usual pigmentation although I have no clue how that might be caused. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 80 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

what a GORGEOUS capture, Jan-Carel!!! this beautiful white blossom looks marvelous against that stunning background! DOF is just fantastic here...really seems to help the flower pop out! :)
