Description

Oil on canvas using palette knives. if we would search among ashes for ourselves we would find ourselves guilty of giving greater hurt than we receive history proves the impotence of our hands bandaged and leprous we need more help and healing than what we can give An honest look at pain shows it to be symptoms of a deeper disease and wounding. I had used this image as an accompaniment for my poem 'From the Ash-Heap', but wanted to post it as an image with its own intrinsic worth. I've changed the context to fit it in with the 'Pain' series, hence the title beginning 'On' rather than 'From'.

Very bleak indeed. Pain a very difficult subject.. having had a lot of it.. but not as bad as some people. how do you overcome pain. how do you go on.. I have no answer.. I love your graphic ..it is all invading ..no escape.. .great use of color ..very abstract looking ..and that is what I love about it.. it is like pain intangible .

Excellent abstract of a very deep concept. Having received forgiveness, we still suffer the pain resulting from our unwillingness to forgive ourselves and others. Through forgiving unconditionally can we leave the pain behind. You many not have intended this meaning, but it is what I have applied to your painting for my life. Your art is a grace! V

"With will, fire becomes sweet water and without will, even water becomes fire..." (from the poetry of Rumi) This is unbelievable! Looking at your painting and reading your poem made me remember this quote; only the willpower within every creation of the Creator can prevent pain and suffering and without it, there will be no end to the pain... no wound is incurable, no wound is unpreventable. Excellent work as always!!!!

I love how the image emerges from this painting. It seems like you were really working the medium with the strokes. . .and the colors, they are warm and mysterious at the same time. I'm glad to see you are posting some of your visual work on here. I like the boldness and the fearlessness in your work. Excellent work Indie!
