The ships hanging in space like that has a real sense of anticipation. Like the background, how was that done? Hope one of those capital ships will end up closer to the camera.

thanks for the encouraging comments. background is a digi pic of some evening clouds, altered in psp. ships are done in Xara3D6, which is not what it is intended for, but i can make simple shapes in it quickly.

u've made the background pic look like a planets atmosphere which gives the whole pic an xcellent sense of scale, well done. u're lighting is spot on :)

Truly an excellent scene here, i really lke the mat background fits the scene just right and yes lighting is right on, may i ask what software are you using ? I noticed that you are on the eovia 3-D .net site, hope to see more of this type of work looking forward to it!
