Description

Hi everyone!Looks like it's back to Scotland, again!Lol! What you are seeing here is the main entrance to Balmoral which has been the Scottish Royal residence since 1852.It was originally a 16th century tower house built by the powerful Gordon family. I have hesitated to upload this shot. It's not the most exciting shot ever, lol! But I think it looks okay framed like this. And the shot actually has a sky in it,miracle of miracles...and that's a very rare thing, believe me! I also like that it has this almost illustrated look to it.I did nothing to this shot except crop it and clone out a big ol' barrel that was sitting in the middle of nowhere! I hope you like it.As always your comments and opinions are soooo appreciated.Thank you for looking!!! Thank you as well for all your thoughtful b-day wishes on my thank you (dedi) pic,"From the Bottom Up",and your sympathies regarding the death of 'Lappy' in,"In Memoriam".LOL,'Lappy' would be so pleased... ;) Have a wonderful rest of the week!!! Hugs,Marlene :)

It shows how well you kept the camera level and paid attention to the compostion in view finder. Artistic at it's best, and a great way for those of us who have never seen a castle to view one. Using more random places for cloning throughout the grass and the perhaps a smaller brush may have made this less visible.Just takes time and a few attempts.:)

The usual Scotish weather I see. I do have to say that this is a beautiful representation and certainly could qualify as the 'official' Royal Postcard of Balmoral Castle. Congradulations. -egmont

DARN YOU WOMAN!!!! DAAAAARN YOU!!!! After your first upload of Balmoral i thought i would give it a few months before i upload my shot of that same castle. I thought that perhaps people would have forgotten aobut it then and they wouldnt remember how pretty your shot was compared to mine...but now you go and post this one...SIGH!!! I might as well just trash my Balmoral-photo now. No way i can top this one. It is absolutely perfect!!! I loooooove your presentation!!! You should sell it to some of those Scotland-sites on the web and let them use it for advertising. EXCELLENT!!!! Now its time to take Eija on a walk, sorry for the loooooooooong comment!!! Brilliant work Marlene! Have a wonderful post-humpday #:O)

I had to smile at the intro comment about the sky. Here in Oregon the sky can remain a ubiquitous grey for months on end during the winter. It becomes a challenge to shoot a decent picture - you know, photos of mud can lose their appeal after a while. So I'm very impressed with this image - it's HUGELY good!!!
