Description

Something completely different, omgwtf. Trying to make a concious effort to get back into my artwork and finish off everything that's been hanging around on my hard drive since last year. NO starting anything new, no pratting about. Just get stuff finished, then I can tidy up my PC, god knows it needs doing. Also trying to learn to use Corel Painter properly but kind of failing because although I used the Oils I still like blending too much. I love folds, satin and different skintones. I somewhat dislike trees. Corel Painter IX, Photoshop 7, Paintshop Pro 9 & my trusty (slightly battered) Wacom. Thank you for looking, have a Budgie.

This is quite beautiful. From the satiny dress and realistic skin and profound facial features to the nearly watercolor background sky... Almost surreal. Lovely!

Why does this remind me on the model Iman?! Seems to be something in the pose of the upper body... This is so elegant (I've never seen painted satin like this before, it's outstanding!!!) and on the other hand kind of sad (great expression of real exhaustion on the man's face) - simply exemplary for what talented artists can do with a computer!

I thought the POINT was to blend! Don't fret technique: Your teachers might, but that's because they don't want to feel totally useless LOL! Once you've learned how to get results, use whatever technique suits. "Too much" this, "have to learn" that, is for class, for beginnings. When you find you can't get a result you need with the methods you're comfortable with, THEN worry about "too much." What you're doing works here! (Digital isn't oil, computers aren't canvas: USE the media at hand. Don't restrict yourself for fear of thickening layers! :D )

Yup, agree with SaintFox, the upper body is very much like Mrs Jones. Fantastic, beautiful work.
