Description

i was fortunate to see and pet these white (actually intended to be 'wide' for their wide mouth) rhinos in Meru Game Park, in Kenya, where "Born Free" was filmed. a few weeks after i saw these rhinos, the guards were killed and all seven of the herd were poached. 'Time Magazine' wrote of the incident and Kenya increased the use of military to fight poachers. today poaching is way down in Kenya and many of the animal herds are coming back to their original glory.

The worst part was, all of them died so some ignorant Chinese could use the horns to make "stiffy pills" or ignorant Arabs could use the horns to make knife sheaths for their sons. At least Viagra is cutting down on the former cause of poaching. I really think we need to set up large preserves in the US and Australia to safeguard species that Africa can't protect.

yes exceptionally sad the demand in the west for rhino horn as a aphrodisiac and various uses of the horn for craved images ..chess sets etc knifes...a rare treat to witness these first hand.. the ignorance of humanity has a long way to go before it evolves.. excellent work..:)
