Description
This is the area surrounding the star Gamma Cygnus - the brightest star in this picture. This star is the center star of the constellation Cygnus. The area here is probably around 2 x 3 degrees - a fairly large area when speaking astronomically. I've tried many times for this shot and finally, persistence paid off!
This is a 60 minute manually guided exposure (my neck is still sore!) using a small telescope that is the equivallant of a 400mm telephoto lens fixed at f/5. I also made use of a Lumicon Deep Sky filter for this shot.
This is just one of about a dozen shots I've taken over the past few months and will be posting more as time permits.

Wow, I'm impressed. Very. It made me think of a website I came across a while back -- check it out. I think you'd find it interesting. http://www.rc-astro.com/ Keep up the great work!

Alright! He's back!!! Great shot! When a shot like this comes from your camera as opposed to the Hubble, it is that much better. Thanks for sharing and look forward to more. KP
